I agree with unlimited disk space, I get that. But if a web hosting provider tells you you have 10GB of space. I assume that you can use it as you see it fit.
As far as I understand, if I put 10 x 1GB video files on my WH space, how is that harming or hampering QoS at the provider level.
DB queries, Script running amok, all this I understand but dumb files on an SSD? How can that be harmful?
Generally speaking, it will be the same regardless of whether the account has unlimited space, 100 GB, 10 GB or 1 GB space – in that the content on the account should only be related to the website being hosted.
The harm would be the fact that the server’s disk space fills up quicker – resulting in the need to buy more drives, spin up more servers, etc.
Ultimately, there are services dedicated to storage hosting, like Google Drive and Dropbox, and the expectation is that services like that are used for files not relating to a website.
If for example those 10 x 1 GB files are related to your site, that would likely be fine.
