It has now been a full 4 months since switching from HostGator over to SetraHost. Saying this is the best move I’ve made would be an understatement. My main goal was finding a non-EIG owned hosting company. SetraHost reached out via twitter after complaining about HostGator.
I’m currently hosting between 6-9 WordPress sites with SetraHost and so far I’m very happy. I was not too sure about switching over primarily because they do not have a support phone number you can call in but just a portal to submit tickets, a support email or chat feature.
There was an extended downtime for 1 day (about a total of 3 hours) but beside that no hiccups. I am stumped as it appears the same person Damon, hello Damon is the only person handling all my support tickets. Who knows, maybe behind the curtain it’s Damon trying to build a new company and host provider and so far he’s doing a great job.
I had considered going with nixihost which has great reviews and is actually located in the same city I am. The decision to go with SetraHost was based on most other host having inode limits for cPanel accounts. Mine is over 300,000 for all my hosted content so a more expensive dedicated plan is required with most other providers but SetraHost has no inode limit.
