A billion dollars (title) question, I know, but Im really torn because I no longer trust fully either brand.
To better explain: I have the mentioned SanDisk old (USB-A only) portable SSD, but after last years data loss gate ((a firmware issue on some models caused near-catastrophic data loss, not fully solved by a later firmware update, and Western Digital little to nothing about it)) I dont really trust the SSD anymore and have been thinking about switching to a Samsung T7 or T7 Shield one .problem is after a Samsung USB-C key failed on me (I dont know what miracle saved my files) Im wary of Samsung as well a USB key and a SSD are different technologies, I know, but I cant help it.
So, should I stick to my SanDisk SSD or switch to the Samsung T7? If the latter, should I go with the T7 or T7 Shield?
Thank you in advance for any advice.

P.S. = Before someone asks, I have everything backed up on two external mechanical HDDs too.
