Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications provider, has unveiled a major leap forward in the country’s digital infrastructure with the deployment of sovereign AI cloud services powered by NVIDIA’s latest Hopper GPUs. The initiative introduces high-performance, accelerated computing capabilities hosted within Ooredoo’s local data centers, marking a milestone in Qatar’s broader strategy to become a regional digital leader.
This deployment enables advanced AI-powered applications across key verticals such as energy, finance, healthcare, logistics, and smart cities, all within Qatar’s borders and aligned with national data governance policies. By leveraging in-country infrastructure, organizations gain access to secure, low-latency AI computing power that would typically require international cloud service providers.
Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al-Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, emphasized the strategic impact of this development, stating that the collaboration with NVIDIA equips customers with cutting-edge tools to transform ambitious ideas into real-world AI solutions. “Our AI infrastructure empowers everyone – from startups to public institutions – to innovate with confidence. This is not just about technology; it’s about advancing Qatar’s digital economy, enhancing citizen services, and reinforcing our position as a regional innovation hub,” he said.
NVIDIA’s AI Enterprise Software Suite
As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP), Ooredoo’s customers gain access to NVIDIA’s AI Enterprise software suite, enabling seamless development, testing, and scaling of AI models. The suite supports a wide range of use cases, including real-time analytics, predictive modeling, and next-generation AI applications, all hosted securely through Ooredoo’s data centers operated by Syntys.
The AI-ready infrastructure directly aligns with Qatar’s national strategies, particularly the Qatar Digital Agenda 2030 and the Qatar National AI Strategy, both of which emphasize localized digital infrastructure and the ethical development of AI technologies. The launch of this sovereign cloud solution addresses a critical need for data sovereignty while providing enterprise and public sector users with the performance required for complex computing workloads.
By offering high-grade AI capabilities domestically, Ooredoo positions itself as a cornerstone of Qatar’s digital transformation, enabling scalable innovation across industries. The move underscores Ooredoo’s evolution from a telecom provider to a full-spectrum digital enabler.
