Namecheap decided to take additional action in response to Alexei Navalny‘s demand for statewide war demonstrations in Russia, in order to make it simpler to disseminate information online and take action against the conflict in Ukraine.
Following the “unjustified” invasion and attack on the Ukrainian people, Namecheap recently decided to discontinue supplying its web hosting goods and services in Russia and Belarus. Namecheap has a significant number of employees in Ukraine who are now being targeted by Russian assaults.
Namecheap.com is one of the largest domain registrars and web hosting companies in the world, with over 14 million domains under administration.
Stopping War Crimes
“We all must do what we can to stop the war crimes that are being committed every day against the innocent people of Ukraine,” said Richard Kirkendall, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Namecheap. “Our hope is that by offering these services in an anonymous way, with no strings attached, that people within Russia that are currently under threat to not speak up against this war are able to organize and do so in a way that may minimize reprisals.”
Russian and Belarusian clients who are standing up to their regime can contact Namecheap’s customer service for more information on this free web hosting and anonymous domain registration offering.
