CEO Fedor Bogomolov
The hosting control panel market is dominated by major players, but ispmanager – a CloudFest 2025 exhibitor – claims to remain competitive without heavy marketing spend. HostingJournalist spoke with CEO Fedor Bogomolov about competition, AI integration, upcoming features, and how ispmanager delivers value to hosting providers while shaping the future of control panels in 2025 and beyond.
“By 2025, the hosting control panel market can be considered fully mature,” said ispmanger CEO Fedor Bogomolov. “While a wide range of solutions exists, WebPros has secured over 70% of the global market share. However, their pricing strategy has prompted the rise of alternative options. Commercial competitors like ispmanager have emerged as viable, regionally focused solutions, accounting for roughly 20% of the global market.”
“The remaining 10% is held by open-source control panels, which are typically free. They certainly have their niche, but when it comes to scalability and major online projects, price is a secondary concern. Rather, security, regular product updates, and prompt, qualified tech support are required. In such cases, users opt for commercial control panels like ispmanager, as shown in the stats for the global market.
What makes ispmanager stand out in the competitive control panel market, and how does it benefit hosting providers and resellers?
“You may have heard about yearly price increases for popular hosting panels. For some well-known solutions – let’s just say the ones starting with ‘P’ and ‘C’ – they have multiplied in price in just a few years. Of course, this affects the hosting provider’s profits. Despite the growth of the hosting market (and it has grown by an average of 20% year by year), hosters spend a fortune on panels, and their earnings remain the same.” “ispmanager is a combination of fair pricing policy, wide functionality, and user-friendly design. The cost of our control panel does not exceed the price of VPS itself in most cases. Most of the functions are integrated into the panel, we don’t charge users for built-in features.”
How is ispmanager adapting to the rise of cloud, hybrid, and edge computing?
“We closely communicate with our partners and customers to adopt their needs. We plan our roadmap based on their constant feedback. For us it means that we are developing the product based not only on our vision, but also taking into account the needs and requests of clients and partners. Speaking about the technical part, our API provides seamless integration with various software and billing systems, enabling hosting providers to customize and scale their services effectively.”
“The ispmanager control panel itself is flexible enough, consumes minimum server resources, so it is adapting easily to the requirements of the hoster.”
How is ispmanager adopting automation and AI to meet industry trends?
“The ispmanager control panel is an automatization itself: automatization for site creation, backups, mail system, SSL-certificates issuing.”
“We are focused on making complicated and complex technical things easier. For example, now to create a WordPress site you need to click 1 button in the ispmanager control panel. You don’t need to be an IT-guru or even a system administrator – the panel will do everything instead of you. We’re also closely following AI developments and running internal experiments to explore its potential.”
With rising cybersecurity threats, how does ispmanager enhance server and data protection for hosting providers?
“We have a lot of integrated features to safeguard servers and data, including a built-in firewall, DDoS protection modules, antivirus solutions, and spam filtering mechanisms. Notably, we are developing a free Web Application Firewall (WAF) based on `mod_security` to provide enhanced protection against web-based threats. These measures collectively ensure a secure hosting environment for our users.” “We also provide ImunifyAV, a free service that checks sites for malicious code, and Cloudflare, which reduces loading time and the load on the site.”
“If the built-in features are not enough, there are additional security modules for ispmanager, including BitNinja, DDoS-Guard and CloudLinux, which ensures the stability of shared hosting.”
What’s next for ispmanager, any upcoming features or goals shaping its future?
“Looking ahead to 2025, ispmanager is focused on several key initiatives to enhance the platform’s functionality and user experience. We’re rolling out advanced migration tools, with cPanel support already available and Plesk migration coming soon. To better serve high-load, dynamic projects, we’re adding support for LiteSpeed Enterprise web servers. We’re also expanding site management capabilities – particularly for WordPress – with features like one-click installation, updates, and cloning directly from the panel. Additionally, we’re redesigning the interface to deliver a cleaner, more intuitive user experience, recognizing that usability and modern design are just as important as technical features. All in all, this makes this ispmanager a much sought-after solution, despite the market being very competitive.”
