I will admit that I am not an expert on servers!
However I am being told by Liquidweb that I need a new server.
My server was new last October.
I have an Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 Hexa-Core which was installed with Centos 7, which I now find can’t be upgraded to the next version of cPanel.
I am now told that someone has installed cloud linux on the server despite me not ordering it.
As a result the server goes down every day – albeit for only a few minutes at a time but the sites are down. Today it has been down for around 16 minutes total in three or four episodes.
To be honest I didn’t even know that the sites were going down as it is not picked up by the monitoring of LW. I am now monitoring it myself and seeing a few 500 internal server errors per day.
I am told that Cloud Linux can’t be removed or Centos 7 upgraded.
Therefore I am stuck. They do not seem to do this server anymore.
I have various tickets open, which are not moving very fast. But I could do with someone independent giving me some advise as to what I should do as I am getting very stressed and already suffer from high blood pressure.
All this over one active WordPress site! .
This is not a bash at LW, more of a what should I do question. I have found an email address for LW, which I have emailed, but what would you do in my position.
I have been a great vocal supporter of LW over the years and I know new clients have gone to them, but right now I feel a bit lost. As all I want is a reliable server that will last me more than 18 months maximum.
