Barrio Energy, supplier of energy infrastructure solutions for data centers and high-performance computing, reveals two new developments for 10MW data center locations in Matagorda County, Texas.
Both locations, which are in the ERCOT South Zone, are positioned to meet the growing demand for advanced computing activities, modular data centers, and cryptocurrency mining. They each have confirmed availability of up to 10MW of electricity.
With these smart moves, Barrio Energy is continuing to grow in Texas, expanding on its existing locations in Tyler, Monahans, George West, and Lolita. Partners will be able to use the South Zone’s abundant energy resources and transmission capabilities to implement cutting-edge modular data centers at the Matagorda County locations.
“We are excited to advance these two high-potential 10MW sites in Matagorda County, which perfectly align with our mission to provide scalable, efficient energy solutions for our clients,” Ivan Pinney, Barrio Energy’s CEO, stated. “Next-generation computing is best suited to the ERCOT South Zone due to its robust infrastructure and plentiful power supply. By creating jobs and fostering technological innovation, these advancements broaden our portfolio and support regional economic growth.
Operations are anticipated to start at one site in Q4 2025 and at the second site in Q1 2026. Tenants are given the option to manage renovations, utilities, and on-site maintenance at both locations, guaranteeing a smooth transition to Barrio Energy’s power facilitation services. By strengthening its portfolio of operating locations throughout Texas, these additions help Barrio Energy further its goal of connecting energy suppliers with high-demand consumers in order to spur innovation in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other fields.
