Abandoned servers
A customer of mine once said that he had abandoned some of his AMD EPYC servers and had them destroyed by his data center. He told me that since he was a person who lived in another country, it cost him a lot of money to ship it to his country, so he gave it up. Is it true that colocation service providers destroy their servers after some customers abandon them?█ Managed Dedicated & Shared Hosting Provider| www.irexta.com

I think that depends on what he told the datacenter to do with them. I suppose he could have instructed/paid them to throw them away or recycle them and it wouldn’t be unheard of, but if he just abandoned it, then after X amount of time (legal process varies per state) then it becomes the property of the colocation provider to do with as they see fit.

I highly doubt the techs that are responsible for “destroying” them will go through with it and not just take it home.VimHost >> 30 Days Backup | cPanel + LiteSpeed + JetBackup | DMCA FREE!
