The long, boring, tedious version:
I had first ever tried VeeroTech in 2019. Service quality (stability, uptime, performance) and technical support were very good.
Then, over the following few years, I tried a lot of different providers, being curious to see if some offer better, or at least similar service quality at a lower price. It didn’t go too badly, and for a few years I was very happy with HostMantis service. However, this summer I got an email saying HostMantis is basically changing hands. With several of my own, and client websites, I wanted to play it safe. Moving off from HostMantis, while it was all still fine, up and running (so no downtime, did all the migrations at my own convenience).
After that, I decided to stop using my time for testing and trying different providers, and go with those I expect to be reliable and trustworthy, so I can concentrate on creating content and building websites, not testing and migrating.
My shortlist was very short:
MDDHosting and VeeroTech.
At the time, my last experience with either of those providers was years old. And, in my experience, hosting providers sometimes change for the better over time, but sometimes they change for the worse. The only way to know if a provider is a good fit for me is to personally give it a try and run some production stuff (that’s the ultimate test). And I thought it’s a good idea to start activelly using the services of two providers. Why?
So that in case of a worst-case scenario with one provider, I’d have a tried-and-tested alternative. It’s not even about not keeping all the eggs in one basket, as I always have backups and can quickly migrate stuff. It’s primarily about knowing where to go in case of any problems – having a reliable and tested alternative.
I saw some scary stuff over the years, and have learned to value (even more) the providers who actually know what they’re doing and take good care of their customers (it seems that’s more of an exception than a rule). My fresh experience with VeeroTech is just as I remembered and hoped for – great service that I’m happy to use and recommend.
For some perspective:
Thanks to the stuff I do, I now get offers from various providers to use and test their services for free (guess you’d have to take my word for it – or not ). However, I prefer investing my time in creating content. Also, hosting production stuff is the ultimate test, and for both stability and security concerns, I’m not very comfortable with taking needless risks. For as long as VeeroTech (and MDDHositng for that matter) service remains as good, my hosting is sorted out as far as I’m concerned.
Good providers deserve all the praise they can get – I wish there were a ton to chose from. VeeroTech is one of the good ones.
